From the moment they gave me a US visa in 2016, I’ve been going back and forth to the states at least 3 times per year. We are almost at the end of 2020 and I haven’t seen the skies from a window seat above or get a welcome abroad message from a pilot. I’m sad!
Hello! Coronavirus has entered the chat and I think it has made a decision – “Jamie, yu nah go nuh weh dis year”.
I’m now an employee and I get 10 vacation days per year. This is my first official job and I started on January 6, 2020, so I only got 7 vacation days this year. I took the first two in September to sleep because I was mentally drained and I took the remaining five days at the beginning of December. I wanted to go to Florida so bad for no specific reason but I didn’t want to go through the entire process of filling out forms or not being able to re-enter the country within a specific time frame.
It is so hard to put something that you really love on time out because you are busy doing something that you have to do to survive. Nothing is wrong with having a 9-5 but ensure that you use 5-9 to work on what your heart truly desires. I enjoy blogging, a lot. This is something I do in my free time and I do not get paid for doing it. That doesn’t mean that in the future it won’t open up doors or present opportunities for me. Although I couldn’t travel internationally, I got to travel and explore my country more. For that, I am grateful.
Everything works out on God’s timing. I’m not mad at all. See you on a flight next year for sure!
Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow! ‘Tis the season to be jolly …
