I am the type of person to manifest and write down my goals as soon as they pop up in my head. If I don’t write them down, I get mad at myself for not remembering as if I’m not human. From Prep school until this day, I’ve always had journals where I write my ideas. This year, I made a decision to invest in a 5 years journal (2021-2025) that I bought from Amazon.
I easily get bored and tired of things but a few of my goals always remain the same. I still want to travel the world, I still want to own a Honda Civic and of course, I would love to get married one day (I’ve already spotted my ring. It’s in Australia – my best friend can tell you). I believe in having a plan but at the same time, I create the plan with enough room for changes. You know how God works and how he does everything on his time so I don’t even get mad when it doesn’t work in my favour. Who knows if what’s coming isn’t better than what I lost?
What exactly is a vision board? It is a visual representation of your goals and inspirations of what you want your life to look like and what you want to do in the future. The future can be next year or even in the next 10 years. You can have a vision board with words, images and/or words and images.
My friends and I had a vision board party back in June where we created long term vision boards. I created mine and put it on the wall in my bedroom to serve as a constant reminder of all the things I want to achieve in a specific timeframe. Other than the one on my wall, I create one every year of the things I want to achieve in that said year. This year, I accomplished everything on my vision board and I am beyond proud.
You can create a vision board and achieve more than what is on it because I also did that. One good thing about having a vision board is that it gives you something to work towards every year or every month. It has been a rough year for many and we need something positive to look towards in 2021, so I am encouraging you all to create vision boards of the things you really want to achieve.
It is really a great feeling when you are working towards a goal and there is nothing that can stop you because you manifested it and you really want to accomplish it. To know you are getting out of your bed to work on something that is yours and doesn’t belong to your boss or your job, a greattttt feeling. I’m not saying it’s easy because it is not but it’s your little baby that you can “pet and pamper” however you like.
Most times, what you put on your vision board actually come true but you have to put in the work – I don’t mean overnight work either. Let’s start manifesting our dreams and goals as of today. Write it down and put a timeline on it. Nothing is wrong if you miss the deadline. As long as you’re working on it and working towards completing it, you are a winner. The main point of the matter is that you’ve started. Be proud of yourself!
Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow. ‘Tis the season to be jolly …
